New products are launched nearly every month. New production lines are setup to cover the increasing demand of air- conditioning & heating equipment and new customers challenge our capabilities in our developing Heating, Refrigeration and Industrial markets. The growth in these new business segments is being supported by acquisitions. The post-merger integration of these companies is also part of our job. The challenges for our Supply Center are large and diverse. Within the Supply Planning department, sales forecasts from customers in the EMEA region are balanced with supply flows from both the local factory in Ostend and factories abroad in the Czech Republic, Italy, Turkey, Spain as well as in the far east. Our department is responsible to get the product supplied according to our customer’s wishes through a network of more than 20 European warehouses and factories. Customer focus is key, though optimizing the total inventory value and keeping logistics cost under control is as important. Job Content: As supply planning officer in our Ostend headquarters you execute a pivotal function in our international organisation. During discussions with your sales contacts and with our sales companies in the EMEA region, you are informed of latest sales trends and new product developments for the product group under your control. On the other hand you act as key contact for our factories to make an accurate planning and set the right priorities and to discuss longer term factory requirements. Your actions have a direct, major impact on sales results & stock control. You will join an international team of about 15 people, each specialised in the characteristics of the supply chain for their product group but using similar tools. This is why we are looking for a team player. Your supply chain is modelled in our ERP system where day-by-day improvements are implemented in close cooperation with your colleagues in all fields of supply planning. To improve forecast accuracy you are looking for best practices amongst our affiliates. In case of supply constraints you can guarantee a fair share of supply for each sales organisation. Additionally you adapt distribution flows to counter logistic constraints. You will participate in Supply Chain improvement projects that are frequently initiated to cover requirements of new markets, vendors or business flows. As a leader in our industry, we continuously launch new products, developed by our local R&D organization. Your involvement in product launch meetings is key to guarantee a fluent phase in - phase out of old and new products. Profile: As an economist or commercial engineer, you have a passion for Supply Chain Management. You are a very communicative and diplomatic negotiator. You speak and write fluent English, any other European language is an asset. You are stress-resistant, have an analytical mind, come up with creative solutions and you’re numerically strong. You have a certain affinity with Daikin products and you are willing to make occasional short trips abroad. You have good to excellent knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint. You are a team player but can also work independently. A couple of years of experience in a similar function would be a plus-point but is not essential.
